How virtual challenge medals work: what you get, when it arrives and what it costs to post

Quick answer: when you order a Running Mad virtual challenge you get a real metal medal with a ribbon, posted within 3 to 5 working days of your order, plus a certificate. Postage is charged at checkout, with UK delivery and worldwide shipping available. The medal is on its way while you complete the challenge, so there is no waiting around after you finish.

What the medal is

Every finisher medal is a chunky, characterful metal medal on a ribbon, designed for the specific challenge. Themed series, charity challenges, kids and family collections and seasonal events all have their own designs. It is the kind of thing you hang on a rack, not a printout. If you are the type who collects race bling, our hexagon medal holders exist for exactly that reason.

When it arrives

This is the question we get asked most. We post your medal within 3 to 5 working days of your order, not after you finish the challenge. That means it usually arrives before you have covered the distance, which some people love and some people find odd. Our view is that having the medal in the house is a better motivator than an empty hook. If you would rather earn it first, put it in a drawer until you have logged the miles.

What postage costs

Postage is calculated at checkout based on where you are and how many items are in the order. UK delivery is £4.95 for one item plus £1.95 for each extra item in the same order; worldwide delivery is £19.95 plus £6.95 per extra item. Both rates are shown before you pay, so there are no surprises. Ordering more than one medal in the same order, for a family or a club, is cheaper per medal than ordering them separately.

Do you deliver internationally?

Yes. We ship worldwide, with the international rate shown at checkout. Delivery times outside the UK depend on the destination and local postal services.

Getting the details right

Check your delivery address before you pay, especially the postcode and flat number. If a medal comes back to us because of an address problem we will contact you, but it slows everything down. For engraved or personalised items, double-check the spelling of names and dates on the order because those are made to your exact wording.

Where to start

If you are new to this, how it works walks through the whole journey in four steps, and the FAQ covers delivery, logging and certificates in more detail. When you are ready, pick from our virtual running challenges with medals.
